Om at committe sig til for meget/ About committing yourself to too much

About committing yourself to too much

Do you sometimes find yourself sitting with some project where you plain wonder: How on earth did this happen to end up with me? You do remember saying yes to it, but you can’t quite remember WHY you said yes. I have some idea as to why. You see, there were a few things you forgot in the process

  • You forgot to consider if it was something that needed doing now

  • You forgot to stop up and think: Well, wait a minute, perhaps X or Y would do this better

  • You completely bought the argument that this something needed doing

Perhaps you hurried up and said yes to doing it simply because you get some gratification from getting things done. Or perhaps you said yes to it because you – slightly arrogantly perhaps – thought that you’d be the best person for the job.

But let’s say that you agreed to the job for all the right reasons did you align the expectations concerning when you could do it and how much time you’d be willing to spend doing it?

Or maybe you will now?
