CAREER OVERVIEW SESSION

You've done the reflecting.

Now the question is what you do with it.

The Career Overview is a structured conversation with Mette Hvied Lauesen, built for professionals who know something has to change and are ready to work out exactly what.

There's a specific point in a career transition where more tools aren't what's missing. You've thought about it. Maybe filled in the checklist. Maybe talked it through with a friend or partner. You know more about your situation now than you did three months ago.

And you're still sitting with the same underlying question. Not because you're unclear. But because clarity, the kind that actually holds, takes more than thinking alone. It takes being thought out loud. With someone who can hear what you're saying, and what you're not.

That's what this session is for.

What this is, and isn't

This isn't career advice. I won't tell you which industry to apply to. It isn't therapy either. We don't go into your childhood or your relationships.

It's a structured, professional conversation with someone who's worked with career transitions for years, and knows which questions actually open something up, and which just keep you circling. Sixty minutes, on the thing that's actually there.

About the Career Overview

Before the session

You fill in a short questionnaire. It builds on the checklist, and makes sure we spend the time on what's actually relevant to you. We don't spend it introducing ourselves.

The session itself

60 minutes over video. Structured, not rigid. I ask questions you probably haven't asked yourself. We work through what you're actually carrying, your professional history, your preferences, your worries, your direction.

Within 48 hours

You get a written summary. Not a transcript, a condensed version of the insights that actually mattered, plus two or three concrete next steps, formulated specifically for your situation.

The week after

You can write in with follow-up questions. I answer.

Who is this for?

  • You're experienced and established, with a growing sense that the next move deserves more thought than you've given it

  • You know something needs to change, but can't get it precise enough to act on

  • You're tired of optimising for a career that might not feel right anymore

  • You need to think out loud with someone outside your situation, who has no personal stake in what you choose

  • You're ready to use one hour seriously and concretely, not to feel inspired, to get clear

Who this isn't for

This isn't for you if you're after a quick fix or a single answer to a complicated question. And it isn't for you if you're not ready yet to look honestly at your situation.

What usually comes up

Most of the professionals I talk to arrive with a question that sounds logistical. Should I stay or leave? Which direction?

Underneath that question, there's almost always something else. A recognition that the career path they invested in hasn't delivered what it promised. A sense of having optimised for something someone else expected of them. Physical signals they've learned to ignore. A mental tiredness that doesn't quite lift.

All of that is relevant information. And it deserves to be heard, named clearly, so it can actually factor into the decisions you need to make.
